Chennai: DMK has maintained its victory line since Lok Sabha’s poll and has pocketed the chair of the Panchayat District Chair, six sea chairman of Panchayat District, 68 chair chairman of Panchayat Union and 62 sea chairman of Panchayat in a rural poll being held in nine regencies reorganized.
The Allied Congress won two guard chairs of the chairman of the Panchayat District and three chairs chairman of the Deputy Deputy Panchayat Union; VCK won the guard chair of the chairman of the Panchayat District while MDMK won the chair of the Union Chairman of the Panchayat.
While the AIADMK opposition and the BJP allied did not win a Panchayat District Chairman or Chair of the Deputy Chairperson, Aiadmk won the chair of the chairman of the Union Panchayat and Vicechairman Chair Union Panchayat.
The State Election Commission held an indirect poll on October 22 to elect candidates for the position of chairman and vice chairman in nine Panchayats and 74 Panchayat unions in the country.
Polling to the chair and Chair of the Deputy Deputy Chairperson of Pancayat Nemili was canceled after anomaly in the notification of polls.
Polling to three chairs chairman of Panchayat Union and to five seats Pancayat Union Vicechairman was not held due to lack of quorum.
At Bypolls to fill empty seats, DMK pocketed the sea chair of the district chairman in Erode and Namakkal while AIADMK pocketed the Vicechairman district seat in Coimbatore.
The DMK also won four chairs chairman of Panchayat Union and seven sea chair chairman of Panchayat Union while Ally Congress won a chair of Chairman of the Union Panchayat.
AIADMK, PMK and an independent candidate won the Panciran Union Deputy Chair.
