Mangaluru: The seven-year-old Tommy spent almost 20 minutes in the jaw of death as leopards, gripping pets on his neck, ran a little before Thursday midnight at Dakshina Kannada.
Leopard accidentally dropped prey, and the dog ran back to a safe area at Kothish Kotukoanje’s house, within the range of the Moodbidri forest.
Sathish, a Hoteler, has stayed at home for almost 20 years and this is the first example of leopard views near his house.
Manjunath Ganiga, Deputy Range Forest Officer, Moodbidri, said the incident was reported from the Padukonaje Government School at around 11:20 a.m.
“CCTV’s footage from Sathish’s house showed the leopard quietly entered the front and approached the sleeping dog.
It digs his teeth to the dog’s neck before walking away with his prey,” he said.
Sathish said Leopard returned to his house at 11:42 a.m.
(according to CCTV’s footage) looking for a lost dog when carrying him away.
But the dog who feared back to the sit-out of the house was only 2:30 a.m.
after roaming the hilly track.
Dogs since it was treated.
