Berlin: The German Disease Control Center said the Delta variant of Coronavirus has become dominant in the country and continues to spread rapidly.
The Robert Koch Institute said according to their latest analysis, 59% of new infections were caused by Delta at the end of last month.
The center said in Wednesday’s weekly reports, Delta variants almost doubled within one week.
About 33.2 million people, or 39.9%, were fully vaccinated in Germany.
More than 47.5 million people, or 57.1% have received their first shot.
