Thiruvananthapuram: Minister of Public Education V Sivankutty here on Saturday asked the school authority to end the practice of mobilizing students to welcome and deliver guests during various programs at school.
“I have asked for some school authorities why they make students come out in the open, mostly under the hot sun, to welcome guests.
The practice of organizing ‘thalappoli’ by students to welcome guests on functions in the Ministry of Education must be dropped at all,” The Minister said, speaking at the State Conference of the Kerala School Teacher Association (KSTA) here.
The minister, who praised the teaching community to increase on occasion during Covid-19 times, said the teacher, cutting their political affiliation, working hard to master the alternative mechanisms placed for digital education and online.
Samagra Shiksha to find instructions to students who miss relevant officials to take direct steps to bring back to the classroom all tribal students who missed the class in the middle of the academic year.
The direction was given in the light of Samagra Shikha’s report on the massive dropout among ST students.
“The details of STUD students, do not attend offline or online classes, will be collected.
Once they are identified, steps must be taken for home visits to take them back to school,” Minister said.
