Hyderabad: The Ministry of Union Jal Shakti on Tuesday ensured that the detailed project report (DPRS) of six irrigation projects on the Godavari River delivered by the Telangana government would be immediately cleaned.
Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Pankaj Kumar gave this guarantee during a video conference with Secretary of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – Somesh Kumar and Sameer Sharma – on the implementation of the Gazette notification provisions issued on July 15, 2021, took control of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) and the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB).
The Pankaj stressed that the center was actively pursuing this problem with the Department of Law and immediately after accepting the opinion of this, this problem would be referred to the court.
The Pankaj also convinced the Telangana government that they would see the problems raised by the state government of alleged illegal irrigation projects taken by the AP on the Krishna River.
Somesh Kumar says Telangana has submitted six DPRs in Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Scheme (LIS), Sammakka Sagar Project (Thupakulagudem Project), Mukteshwar (Chinna Kaleshwaram) Lis, Chowtpally Hanumanth Reddy Lis, Modikaktavagu Project and Channaka-Korata Alrage on The Godavari to the Commission Central Air (CWC) in September this year.
DPRS is still delayed by CWC.
According to the decision taken at the APEX board meeting was carried out on October 6, 2020, Minister Jal Shakti has asked the Chandrashekhar Rao’s Chandera Minister to withdraw a case from the Supreme Court to consider referring to the court under the Negara River Water Dispute (ISRWD) Act 1956.
Said the Government Telangana has attracted its case from the APEX court, Somesh Kumar urged the central government to immediately take action in this matter.
Somesh Kumar also refers to five projects at Godavari Basin – Ramappa-Pakala Link Project, Kaleshwaram Project (Additional 1 TMC per Day), Kandakurthy Lis, Gudem Lis and PV Narasimharo Kettaapally Barrage – which is incorrested in the list of projects that are not approved in Gazette Notification GRMB and asked the Secretary of the United States to delete them from a list of projects that were not approved.
