Thane: population of 48 hamlets and villages located in far corners of the Thane district have not benefited from vaccination drive, after a special initiative that began here, officials got information on Thursday night.
A task force arranged for vaccination in the district meets on Thursday night where the problem of low immunization on the outskirts of rural Thane, especially in remote corners, discussed, after a list of the villages completed where the drive has not to start.
Thus, a series of initiatives including deploying cellular vaccination vans have been resolved which will tour these regions and bring citizens under the vaccination fold for a sustainable battle against Covid-19.
The Rajesh Narvestar collector held a meeting instructed the team to formulate a micro-level action plan and intensify the drive of vaccination in the Thane rural belt.
“The cellular medical unit will be regulated by using government vehicles to reach rural belts.
There is a need for a taluka level action plan and to bring maximum people under the folds of vaccination,” he said.
According to statistics, 48 Lakh residents have been given the first dose of vaccines, while 28 other lats are still out of the vaccination ambit.
