Nagpur: The genome sequencing has confirmed the Omicron variant in the 21-year-old young man who returned from Dubai, while 35 local patients were tested negative for Omicron.
This sample is processed in a two-day note with Virological cells of the Neer environment working with CCMB Hyderabad.
Cell neeri has received samples on December 20, when sending RNAS quality sequencing from all 36 samples to ccmb at night.
However, five more international leaflets have been found positive covid in the city, and shifted to a special ward AIIMS Nagpur.
One of the five – Dubai Traveler – has also tested the failure of the positive genes for ‘SGTF), which shows that he tends to be a positive case of third omicron.
They are all asymptomatic and alright, said the doctor.
After neeri, the National Institute of Virology (NIV) based in Pune also confirmed the Omicron variant in the 21-year-old sample, which was sent there on December 19 through the IGGMCH’s Sentinel Center.
This is the second omicron case from the city while the first patient, who has also returned from abroad, is now declared fully recovered.
Unlike this time, NIV has judged the first patient as ‘omicron-like’ and does not ‘confirm Omicron’.
Youth, a Dhantoli resident, returned from Dubai through Delhi on December 18.
He has tested Covid Positive at Nagpur on December 19.
Swab youth was collected by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and sent to AIIMS LAB.
He also got himself tested in a private lab.
AIIMS samples were sent to NIV while private lab samples went to Neer, said civilian officials.
“The sample is confirmed by Omicron positive.
He is also positive for SGTF.
Sequencing all genomes have 100% confirmed that he is an Omicron patient,” said Krishna Khairnar, Head, environmental virological cells, neeri.
He shifted to a special Ward AIIMS Nagpur according to the norm for omicron supervision.
The young man was fully vaccinated and had a negative RPCR when he reached Delhi on December 18.
The youth sample is estimated to be positive for Omicron after the SGTF report (the target gene failed) was found positively.
Gen’s’ lost in a new variant.
The SGTF report is an alleged diagnosis, which will be confirmed in the genome study.
About 17 close contact, including two family members, has been tested and found negative.
He is the fifth international leaflet to test positive in the city because omicron supervision starts from December 1.
