Vadodara: Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel on Sunday visited three selected locations to prepare the new Health Maternal and Child (MCH) wings in Vadodara.
Patel was accompanied by district collectors and officials of the SSG hospital managed by the government exploring three choices including empty plots in Yavteshwar compounds, the space available near the quarter staff behind Kirti Mandir and a contagious hospital in Karelibaug.
Last year, the state government has announced preparing this facility at the cost of the RS 180 Crore budgeted.
Of this amount, RS 50 Crore has been approved as the first installment.
Hospitals are proposed to be equipped with modern equipment, pregnancy and pediatric department, ICU for pregnant women, NICU for children, triggers and nutritional rehabilitation centers among others.
Patel asked the district collector R B Barad to check the availability of land in all three locations.
The hospital authority hopes that the proposed hospital appears near medical colleges, campuses and Baroda Hospitals.
