Kolkata: The East-West Metro train can roll over to the estimated station next month.
The state government wants to ensure that services from the City 2 line are extended with 2KM other than Phoolbagan ahead of the next fiscal.
It also provides a nod to the station near the Victoria Memorial as a line 3 part, the Joka-Esplanade corridor.
Minister of Transportation State Firhad Hakim on Wednesday held a meeting with various institutions to facilitate Kolkata Metro projects.
The minister assured that the state would offer full cooperation for the East-West Metro Sealdah extension, which had a pending fire license with the state fire service department.
Without permission, Metro Railway cannot invite the train safety commissioner (CRS) to examine the new section.
The east-West Metro is now 6.9 km which is deducted between the Sector V and Phoolbagan and can extend the operation to Seacdah only after CRS, an autonomous body that agrees to every new Metro project in India, provides ahead.
Commuter can zip 10 km in 20 minutes after this seventh station is added to the network.
16km Metro east-west, Veering to connect the HOWRA Maidan terminal under Hooghly in December, accepted the highest allocation – 1,100 crore – in this year’s budget.
Another important decision was passed on Wednesday’s meeting related to Line 3 Kolkata, Metro Joka-Esplanade 15 km, which was allowed to stop at Victoria Memorial.
At another meeting was hit by the Head of Secretary H K Dwivedi on October 28, Implementation of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) was asked to skip the station “for the benefit of Metro and Victoria Memorial.” On Wednesday, the judge said the country did not object to the Victorian Memorial Station when RVNL officials told him that the offer must be invited to the bottom of Mominpore-Esplanade 5.6km.
For this, alignment must be resolved once and for all.
Representatives from the East Army Headquarters were also present at the meeting.
Five underground stations – Mominpore, Kidderpore, Victoria Memorial, Park Street and Esplanade – will appear along this stretch.
The army is the guardian of most of this land.
Officials said the nod of the state government to Victoria Station came after the Calcutta High Court cleaned the underground section.
The problem was discarded as a soldier to a division bench that did not object to matching under the maidan to put the track.
The High Court heard a problem related to the 2005 pill.
RVNL has prayed before the court that Metro’s construction will far exceed 200 meters of Victoria’s limit.
RVNL was also told to complete the formalities with Kolkata police to relocate the Bidhan market (also called the Maidan Market) and regulate the shift of a joy fountain.
Among other issues discussed are obstacles for the new Garia Airport corridor in Laskarhat on Em Bypass.
Kolkata police need to allow transferring traffic to facilitate the construction of a 166 dock for the Metro Link.
RVNL is currently trying to fill the Viaduct 125M gap on the stretch.
