Chandigarh: In large developments in the 2018 illegal sand mining case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday night arrested Bhupinder Singh Honey, the nephew of the Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi.

According to the source, he was arrested around 10pm after he did not work together and gave a reply to justify the question.
The source also revealed that honey was called by Ed several times after the January 18 attacks, but he avoided the call.

Raidsbesides honey, close friend Kudratdeep Singh also called by Ed recently and he has appeared once and filed his statement.
In particular, Kudratdeep Singh was the defendant in the FIR 2018 registered by Punjab Polys if illegal sand mining conducted in several places in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar.
Based on this FIR, ED on November 30, 2021, has registered a report on the information enforcement case (ECIR) and started the probe.
In his investigation, Ed has found that Honey, his friend Sandeep Kumar is a director of a company that uses Kudratdeep Singh which is believed to have washed money printed through illegal sand mining.
In the follow-up of his investigation on January 18, the Ed team stormed several places in Punjab belonging to Honey, Kudratdeep and their other Associate Kumar.
In this attack, cash to Rs 8 Crore was found from Ludhiana and Mohali, owned by honey while Rs 2 Crore was confiscated from other properties.
