Chandigarh: Minister Punjab Chararjit Singh Channi on Wednesday accused the Central Government led by BJP hatching “conspiracy” to “trap” in this case where the attack was carried out by the Directorate of Enforcement in many places in the state.
He alleged that every time the election would occur, the BJP government was in the middle of using agents such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), income tax and other political opponents to target and rotate their arms.
“The conspiracy has hatched me to trap in this matter,” Channi’s claim, referred to the ED attack carried out at his nephew’s residence on Tuesday.
He accused that the effort was carried out by the Federal Sleuth Probe Agency to “trap” in this case.
Channi, accompanied by several ministers including Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, was handling a press conference.
ED sources said on Wednesday about RS 10 Crore Cash had been confiscated during the raids carried out in the anti-money laundering investigation into illegal sand mining operations in Punjab which included around RS 8 Crore from a place related to Bhupinder Singh aka Honey, nephew Channi.
Others about Rs 2 Crore have been confiscated from a place related to someone identified as Sandeep Kumar, they said.
RAID RAID ED in his niece’s place, Channi claimed that he was not even mentioned in Fire 2018 Police Nawanshahr (Shaheed Regency Bhagat Singh Nagar).
However, officials said the action had begun after consuming Cemara Police Nawanshahr 2018 and several other police complaints against several companies and individuals allegedly involved in illegal sand mining businesses in the state.
Channi also tried to connect ED attacks at his niece’s place to the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Narendra who was scheduled recently to Ferozepur, where PM returned without handling the rally after the convoy was stuck for 15-20 minutes due to the protest of farmers.
“What is my mistake, if Modi must return? …
why revenge was taken to me,” said the ministerial head, referring to the raid.
Punjab is scheduled to go to the poll on February 20.
