MySuru: Eight Jumbos Dasara will be part of the 2021 edition of the 10-day festival, which was increased due to the Covid-19 crisis.
Of the eight elephants, Tusker Ashwathama is a new participant, prepared to become an elephant Howdah for the future.
Like last season, Veteran Abhimanyu will be assigned the task of carrying Golden Howdah on his back and walking inside the Palace of Mysuru on October 15, given that the Dasara procession was limited in the palace procession.
Mysuru District Minister St Somashekar headed for the Dasara Executive Committee on Wednesday and gave future plans to get eight elephants for the dasara assignment in Mysore.
They will leave the Nagarahole forest on September 13 and camp in Bhavan.
On September 16, they will be given a traditional welcome at the Gate of the Jayamarthanda Palace.
Somashekar said when the procession was peeled, it was decided to celebrate the Idol Dewi Chamundeshwari procession from Chamundi’s hill to the palace on October 15.
Previously the idol was carried out without figuratively at the palace.
To add attraction to the celebration, it was decided to focus on lighting given that it did not cause crowding and obey the SOP.
By opposing 50 kms of the special illumination of the road and the main intersection last year, this season 100 km will be illuminated from October 7 when the Dasara Festival will be launched on the Bukit of Chamundi.
The minister said the main minister of Basavaraj Bommai, who was empowered to give a VIP name to inaugurate the festival, had not finished it.
He said the number of invitations to the procession and cultural events at the palace had not been decided and depended on the level of peposititivity.
It was decided to include three Tableaux during the procession, which will include people’s artists and Mysuru police bands.
Mayor of Sunanda Palanetra, MP Pratap Sime, MLAS GT Devegowda, SA Ramadas, L Nagendra, Niranjan Kumar, B Harshavardhana, Deputy Commissioner of Gautham, who is a special officer of the Dasara, Police Commissioner Chandragupta and DCF Karikalan attended the meeting.
