Rajkot: Squeeze complaints submitted against one Hiren Barge and other unknown people by a businessman from Juvanpur in Kalyanpur Taluka from Devbhumi Dwarka District.
According to the police, Jayanti Parmar (31), the villagers of Juvanpur Kalyanpur Taluka from Devbhumi Dwarka district, filed complaints against Barai and others for extortion.
The police said that Parmar had an Agro product shop, in Juvanpur Village.
He suffered losses after the fire swallowed his shop in March.
A few months later, on September 8, when Parmar opened the shutter of his shop, he found a note that warned terrible consequences if he did not cough Rs 50,000.
The note also mentions the email address.
Parmar did not seriously consider the threat, but in September he again received a note that demanded Rs 50,000 and threatened to kill his son.
A few days later, Parmar received an email with the same threat.
Then, he approached the cyber police in the district and filed a complaint.
The main probe revealed that Barai, a village citizen, had sent the email after which police filed complaints against him and others.
The police are now investigating whether Barai plays a role in triggering fire which has damaged the Parma shop.
