Coimbatore: The district chapter of the Employers Organizations distributes global student entrepreneurs awards to the winners of a function held in the city on Saturday.
While Surya Varshan, founder Naked Nature, secured the first prize, Smrithi, founder of Shikha Creations, came second to beat 75 other contestants.
Surya received a cash prize of 1 lakh and smrithi, 50,000.
The organizer of the event said the national level final would be conducted at Vizagapatam on February 22.
The global final will take place in the US.
Events, Sivarajah Ramanathan, CEO, Tamil Nadu Tamil Startup and Innovation Mission, called for various stakeholders to help the Government State created 10,000 startups in the next three years and put the country on a global map.
He appealed with the industry and industry forum, which motivated entrepreneurship, to create an ecosystem to encourage entrepreneurship among youth.
“Students must be encouraged to entrepreneurship while studying in college, so they can start a business when they leave the institution.”
