LONDON: The World Health Organization said there was a 7% increase in the case of new Coronavirus throughout Europe last week, the only area in the world where cases increased.
In a weekly assessment of the pandemic released on Tuesday, the UN health agency said there were around 2.7 million Covid-19 cases and more than 46,000 deaths last week, similar to the number reported the previous week.
England, Russia and Turkey contributed most cases.
The biggest decline in the Covid-19 case was seen in the Western Africa and Pacific, where each infection fell around 18% and 16%.
The number of deaths in Africa also decreased by about a quarter, despite the lack of vaccines on the continent.
Other areas including America and the Middle East, reported the same number as the previous week, which said.
But for the third consecutive week, the Coronavirus case has jumped in Europe, with around 1.3 million new cases.
More than half a country in the region reported the increase in their Covid-19 figures, which said.
In the past week, Russia has repeatedly violated a new diary for Covid-19 cases and the number of infections in the UK has surged to a level that was not seen since mid-July.
Although the Head of the British National Health Office has urged the government to introduce a more stringent Covid-19 protocol including masks that wear and vaccinated faster children, politicians so far have declined.
In Russia, officials have struggled to vaccinate the population and only about 32% of people who have been immunized despite the availability of the V sputnik vaccine.
So far have the biggest dead in Europe, with more than 225,000 deaths.
