Amsterdam: The European Medicine Agency has begun the accelerated review process to determine whether the general arthritis of arthritis may help the person being hospitalized with Covid-19, months after the drug is given an emergency use authorization in the US in a statement.
The European Union drug regulator said that it assessed the application to extend the use of tovilizumab for adults suffering from heavy coronavirus in hospitals, which have been treated with other steroids or extra oxygen, including through ventilators.
Tocilizumab is an anti-inflammatory drug which is currently used to treat adults and children with severe arthritis.
In June, the US food and drug administration provided authorization drugs for emergency use and the world health organization recommended its use last month for critical people with Covid-19.
The European Regulator said it was expected to make decisions in mid-October in Todilizumab, based on data from four major studies.
This drug was first licensed in the EU in 2009.
