Thiruvananthapuram: With the Supreme Court criticized the state government for the slow disbursement of Lega Covid-19 Ex-Gratia and the state made the necessary changes in the procedure for sanction funds to beneficiaries, as many as 90.07% of the claims had been cleaned by the state by Monday night.
Of the 44,864 applications received by the district to remove ex-gratia, 40,410 applications have been processed and approved.
As much as Rs 150.85,64,425 have been disbursed to the beneficiary bank account.
Among the districts, Kasaragod (97.80%), Wayanad (96.42%) and Kannur (95.11%) are those who have been processed and cleaned the maximum amount of application.
The level of disbursement in Thiruvananthapuram, where the maximum number of deaths has been reported (6851), as many as 4,850 of 5,685 applications (85.31%) have been cleaned.
The percentage of ex-gratia assistance is processed and cleaned vis-à-vis the number of applications received has crossed 80% in all districts, including Kollam (91.46%), Pathamthitta (84.09%), alappuzha (91.57%), Kottayam (88.47%), Idukki (91.33%), Ernakulam (88.33%), thrissur (91.94%), palackad (86.83%), malappuram (89.51%) and kozhikode (92 , 70%).

The district collector is directed at accelerating the collection and processing of the remaining applications and disbursement of the former Gratia.
Some of the district collectors have raised the issue of delay in issuing Covid-19 certificates of death with the document number of death declarations by district medical officers.
In the meeting, it was also stated that currently, software for Payment Ex Gratia requires the number of declaration death documents as one of the data to process the application.
In order to reduce delays, the district government itself has begun to enter the death document number declaration instead of asking applicants to do so, after verifying the same from the Database Department of Health.
