New Delhi: Come on October 1, senior citizens who are looking for employment opportunities will be able to register on the first special employment exchange portal for parents.
‘Senior citizens who are able to hire again in the portal’ dignity, driven by the Ministry of Justice and Social Empowerment (Musj & E), will allow “virtual matching” from the elderly that can be employed 60 years and above with advanced employers and registering on the platform.
Justice and Secretary of Social Justice, R Subrahanyam said the exchange would be an interactive platform where stakeholders would meet each other virtually and decide on action.
To bring employers, Minstry has also written to CII, FICCI and Assocham and others to help increase employment opportunities for parents.
After the portal is aired, a senior citizen can register with input on education, experience, skills and field interest.
Job providers will determine the tasks involved and the number of senior citizens needed to solve them.
It has been proposed that voluntary organizations are withdrawn to help senior citizens in applying for this job.
The ministry has explained that the exchange does not guarantee any work.
This portal is seen as a way forward against the background of a steady increase in the parent’s population.
The number of senior citizens has risen from almost 2 crores in 1951 to 7.6 crores in 2001 and around 10.4 crores in 2011.
