Dharwad: After several Covid-19 cases emerged from schools and colleges, the Department of Public Teaching has directed school management to be careful and followed the standard operating procedure (SOP) to protect children from infected.
DDPI SS Keladimi on Tuesday held a meeting of education officers, managing Beos and school and issued directions to be adopted while doing class.
He said the teacher had to make sure everyone used a mask.
If the student’s strength is high, the school must make a batch and hold a class for each batch on alternative days to maintain social distance.
“All teachers must prepare to resolve the syllabus before the end of January.
Special classes must be made for poor children in the study,” he said.
It is separate, the principal or school authority must ask for police assistance to expel shops that sell tobacco if it is located near the school place, he said.
“The principal is empowered to punish parents, teachers or non-teaching staff who are found chewing tobacco or smoking at school.

DDPI told that in the academic year 2021-22, as many as 1,463 children remained away from school and returning them to school must be given a priority.
He reminded that the last date to register students who emerged for SSLC examination this year was January 10.
