Berlin: The explosion in the chemical garden rocked the city of Leverkusen Germany on Tuesday, sending a large black cloud that went up to the air.
The Chempark site operator in Leverkusen, about 20 kilometers (13 miles) in North Cologne on the Rhine River, said the cause of the explosion was unclear.
They said on Twitter that the Van detection of fire extinguisher and pollution had been deployed.
The police cannot be contacted immediately for further details.
The Stadt-Anzeiger daily Koelner reported that the explosion occurred in the Buerrig Neigbborhood at a garbage combustion plant.
Leverkusen is home to Bayer, one of the biggest German chemical companies.
