Brussels: The rescue team has recovered an English Demon Fighters who fell into the Mediterranean while taking off from England England’s mainstay aircraft, NATO and England officials said on Wednesday.
“The operation to restore the F-35 Jet UK in the Mediterranean Sea has succeeded in concluding,” the British Defense Ministry said in a statement tweeted.
NATO Air Command Tweeted that “NATO Allies Italy and the United States is supported during recovery operations”.
The sophisticated F-35b, US made into the sea on November 17 when taking off from HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Top Britain aircraft carrier, which returned from the mission in the Indo-Pacific.
A video taken on board and published by British media shows the jet moves slowly on the road at the end of the runway and falls into the water.
The pilot is safely removed.
UK Defense Journal, an online outlet that focuses on the British military, reported on Tuesday that a sailor suspected of leaking the recording was arrested and flown back to England.
A report in the Sun Britain newspaper said British defense officials believed the plastic machine cover had left above one of the aircraft jet intake, causing it to fall.
British and NATO officials at the HMS Council of Queen Elizabeth told AFP on November 22 they were sure to save a plane crash before Russia could do it with her recovery vessel.
Officials do not provide details of recovery operations, quoting the need for confidentiality.
The UK so far has taken delivery of 21 from the US F-35bs, mostly for two modern aircraft vessels, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince Wales.
Every jet costs more than 100 million euros ($ 110 million).
The F-35BS is designed to take short off and vertical landing, and is a variant of the other F-35.
They are the fifth generation war aircraft that can be equipped for various different missions.
