Noida: A woman has been ordered for allegedly deceiving other people for Rs 42 lakh tones.
The victim had been friends with the defendant on the social media platform.
In the complaint registered at the Sector 39 police station, Vandana Chauuhan (32), a teacher and resident of Sector 45, stated that he had been friends with a woman named Aarti on Facebook.
“After a few days of conversation, he asked for my address.
At first I was hesitant but gave it after a repetitive request.
Then a few days later, I got a call from Aarti where he said that a package had arrived on my name in his office in his office Mumbai, “read complaints.
The defendant further mentioned that he brought some gold jewelry, watches and 50-rs 55 lakh cash.
“I was told that I needed to pay some money as a processing fee for parcel permission.
Without thinking about anything, I finally paid Rs 42 lakh” complaint reading.
The police said that the victim later reached the Sector Police Station 39 on Tuesday to report the incident.
“We have registered a case based on complaints against Aarti for fraud and with the provisions of the Information Technology Act (IT).
The victim told us that he paid all the installments he took loans from the bank” Ankita Sharma, ACP -1 (Noida) said .
