Facebook has added a new group effect feature to Messenger which will let everyone in video call activate the AR effect.
As part of the feature, more than 70 new effects have been added to Messenger.
This effect also includes those games like those who make you compete with participants in video calls to build the best burgers.
New features have been added to both messenger messages and messenger rooms and will also be launched on the Instagram platform.
The group effect feature can be disbursed by tapping the smiley face icon in the ongoing group video call, which will open the effect tray for you to choose.
The addition of new features for group calls shows that Facebook does not allow competition with other platforms that offer AR Games such as Snapchat.
And regardless of the fact that people get fatigue video calls and search for options such as podcasts, video calls don’t come out of fashion in the near future.
This pandemic is still here and may have been long before most of the coronavirus conscious population began to feel that it did not need to make video calls to friends and family again.
Facebook also plans to expand the group effect features by providing more creators and developers access to API New Multiper Spark AR.
“With API Multiper API, all creators and developers can build dynamic and real-time interactive effects for a larger audience and change the way people experience video calls.”, Facebook said in a blog post.
