Hyderabad: In what case can be the first example in this country, the Telangana government has decided to appoint legal colleagues to fight various court cases.
The move might be taken to follow a series of setbacks in court and strictures which were continued against high-ranking officials by the High Court in several cases lately.
With the government trapped in thousands of cases in various courts where it is a party, these legal colleagues will be useful in helping prosecutors, government applicants and department secretaries, said senior government officials.
To start, legal colleagues will be appointed for around 30 major departments at the Secretariat.
“If an experiment clicks, more law associations will be employed for various departments,” said a senior government official.
Fellow law will assist in all court cases and legal issues such as file processing relating to court cases, interim and the last commandment of the court, preparation of written statements, appeals in higher courts and petitions leave, etc.
“This Associates will act as a liaison officer between government and government applicants and the Advocate General Office.
They will also help the Secretary in reviewing all cases delayed and monitoring cases.
