Thiruvananthapuram: Mitraniketan Krishi Vigyan has introduced an increase in the variety of Anngitha to farmers in connection with the frontline demonstration program.
The Harvest of Anjitha Variety of Okra festival held in Kulakode in Vellanad Panchayat, was inaugurated by Binu John Sam, Senior Scientist and Head of Mitraniketan KVK.
Manju Thomas, a KVK horticulture specialist explained that Anjitha Okra varieties developed by the University of Agriculture Kerala could occur against yellow vein mosaics.
Bindhu R Mathews, KVK plant protection specialist describes various management steps to be adopted against pest attacks and diseases in plants due to climate change.
Farmers who attended the event also testified the resistant nature of the disease of Anjitha Okra varieties and hoped that the results would also be very profitable, making plants economically healthy.
