Tarpon Springs: Police shot a florida teenager after he pointed out what was turned out to be an air gun in people, cars and officers, said a police chief.
The police identified as Alexander Raja, a 17-year-old junior at Tarpon Springs High School which had 22 previous meetings with law enforcement.
Officers respond Saturday night to a report of a white man wearing black walking around a busy road pointing at what appeared to be a stylish weapon of attacks on people and cars.
Tarpon Police Chief Springs Jeffrey Young said in the news release Monday that officers fired 12 rounds in the king after he pointed at the rifle in them.
The teenager was said to be killed in the hospital.
It was not clear whether he fired a shot from the air-powered pellet pistol he was carrying.
The previous king meeting with law enforcement included arrest for batteries on school employees and batteries that were exacerbated by deadly weapons, Young said.
The officers involved in the shooting were placed on paid leave based on the policy of the department while the Florida law enforcement department and other institutions investigated.
