Rajkot: A 24-year-old woman from Rajkot allegedly branded and tortured by his aunt and his cousin when he went to stay in their place after his father’s death was due to Covid-19 years ago.
A complaint was submitted to the Thorala police station on Monday after the woman was saved by the Abhayam team.
The Abhayam team got a call from the neighbor of the victim who told him he was beaten by his aunt and they heard the scream of the woman.
The team saved the Shivangi girl garage and took her to the hospital and then went to the Thorala police station.
BM Katariya, Police Inspector, Thorala, said, “He was afraid when he was brought here, but we advised the woman after that he opened and agreed to file a complaint.” Complaints named his aunt Ansuya and Cousin Shivani.
He began living in his uncle’s house in Sant Kabir Road after his father’s death.
His parents divorced and he was not related to his mother.
He accused the complaint that he was tortured for the past six months.
He was allegedly branded, beaten with iron pipes and was forced to do all the housework.
He wasn’t even given enough food, his complaint was stated.
According to the police, the neighbors, pityed his condition, had provided food to the woman secretly.
If his aunt knows that the neighbors have given their food, he will go and fight with them, the police said.
