SAIYAD RAJPARA (UNA)He chose to construct his nestbrick by brick, and a’pakka’ fantasy castle to the seashore he had envisaged because of his little family , including spouse and three brothers. However, Chaagan Dana’s dream appeared through the night of this cyclone and Tauktae left it that his worst nightmare — that the home become a tomb because of his 7-year-old daughter, whereas another four had a providential escape. The village has a population of about 10,000, the majority of whom have been engaged in fishing. They all possess smaller ships and venture outside from the sea for about 15 nautical miles simply. Dana’s house at Saiyad Rajpara village, located around 25km in Una city in Gir Somnath district, is well worth mentioning — situated just on the seashore, his home is sea facing. A labourer from the fishing business, he had been constructing the home in parts each year in the money he got yearly. Dana gets a predetermined earnings of Rs 1.5 lakh each year, where he kept a few for household expenses and the rest spent on building job. Since it had been pakka home, Dana’s household chosen to stay put inside their house and to not visit a refuge home made by the district administration. “The first couple of weeks of this cyclone were terrifying, although we passed it in amazing dread, nothing occurred. The end speed became regular for nearly one hour but unexpectedly it jammed enormous rate and turned mortal. My home could not sustain the next throw,” emotionally-wrought Dana remembered between sobs, until he awakened. His uncle Ramji Rathod completed the dreadful narrative:”The home collapsed upon his daughter Bhagavati who received acute injury on her mind and ear and expired immediately. Dana’s spouse Lakhu and the other girl Manisha got confessed to Una hospital nearly after 24 hours of this episode. They’ve received cracks on their thighs.” Neighbour Savi Majeriya, whose household also had taken refuge at Dana’s home acquired injuries, remembered,”We began screaming as soon as the house began to fall, but nobody had been in a place to come back and assist us. Other than me, my son Hetal and boy Akshay and three additional people had been injured but can catch ourselves no assistance or relief. The wind has been crying always and it had been the most dreadful nightmare” After the cyclone fury ebbed, neighbors hurried to help but may do just little to ameriolate their anxieties because it was very dim sans power and no cellular system. Only the morning after, both most seriously injured individuals — Dana’s wife and a girl — may be carried to the main health centre at a pace at about 9am. Although a couple of neighbors moved all the way into a nearby village to phone up 108 Creek, it also came just in midnight on the next moment. Sarpanch of the village, Dinesh Bambhaniya stated,”Almost 80 percent homes and nearly all 450 ships in the village have now already been damaged. Five ships are completely ruined”
