Panaji: Monsun has resigned on Goa and a side by side on Saturday, according to estimates by the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) Panaji.
Light or storm rain can continue for several days.
On Saturday, the line of withdrawal of southwest monsoon is on Majali, Karwar and an adjoining area.
“Because the system is above Lakshadweep, light rain, or a storm will continue for two more days,” said an IMD official.
The normal date for the withdrawal of the Monsun over Goa is October 14, but delayed this year.
In 2020 withdrawals were postponed by almost two weeks, extended until October 28.
Rainfall was fast during October this year because IMD recorded the average post-monsoon state rainfall which was very heavy at 110mm on October 7.
The 24-hour high spell produced 31.7mm on October 6 and another on October 16 recorded 12.6mm.
The total post-monsoon has touched 222.7mm until Saturday, compared to normal 137.9mm at this stage, recorded excessive rainfall of 61% in October.
Arrangement on the northeast wind at the lower troposphere level above the Bay of Bengal and the Extreme South Peninsular India creates favorable conditions for the withdrawal of monsoons.
