Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced the payment of EX Gratia each Rs 4 Lakh for family members of five children who were scorched in unintentional fires in the Banka district on Tuesday.
Nitish also asked the disaster management department and Banka DM to ensure payment on Wednesday itself.
Five children from a family were expected to death after a fire broke out in their homes in Rajwaar Village under the Kinggun police station in the Banka district on Tuesday.
Children played in their home at night when the fire erupted due to leakage from the LPG cylinder, police said on Wednesday.
A resident of Ashok Pastras Village lost four children including a son and three daughters, Ankush Paswan (10), Shivani Kumari (08), Seema Kumari (05) and soni Kumari (02).
Cousin of children Anshu Kumari (10), Prakash Paswan’s daughter, who was Ashok Paswan’s brother, also scorched in the incident, police said.
CM expressed deep sadness on the death of five unlimited children.
The chasing incident as ‘very sad’, Nitish said he was very hurt after hearing about the death of five children.
Previously on Sunday, CM had announced the former Gratia payment of each Rs 4 Lakh to Kin next from the seven people killed in a boiler explosion at the Mie Factory in the Muzaffarpur industrial area in Bela.
Overall seven people were killed and seven others were injured after the boiler exploded at the noodle factory on Sunday morning.
