Pune: Three people steal five bicycles, collectively worth more than RS1 Lakh, from where housing communities in Bavdhan early on Wednesday.
“In a week, six bicycles have been stolen from the place of society,” said Nilesh Nehete, a resident of Suvarna Park Society in Bavdhan, whose bicycle was stolen four days ago.
“Thieves are in the location of the community for at least one and a half hours, but the guards fall asleep,” Shitalkumar Dahiwal, another resident of the public told TII.
“Thieves broke the bicycle lock and stole it,” added Dahiwal.
One of the CCTV cameras installed at the Society location has captured thieves.
“They are three thieves.
Two of them check bikes in the parking lot of all four buildings.
They then cut the key,” said Nehete.
He said the height of the compound wall of the public was low.
“The duo save the cycle near a compound wall and then passed the bike to their hands, who was waiting outside,” Nehete added.
Chandrashekhar Dere, the new bike was stolen, said, “The thieves choose only branded bikes.
I have locked my bikes with my other bikes but they stole the new one.” He said, “Our neighbors have placed three keys to his bicycle but they cut off third key and steal the bicycle.
” Senior Inspector Balkrishna Sawant from Police Hinjewadi told TI that the theft case was registered.
“We have our last night patrol in the Bavdhan area.
But, it is impossible to visit every society.
Residents must spread private security to keep their buildings,” Sawant said.
