Mangaluru: Among the Indians who returned from Afghanistan on Sundays was five mangalureant.
Learned that the Dinesh Rai from Bajpe, Jagadish Pujary from Moodabidri, Desmond Davis D’Souza from Kinnigoli, Prasad Anand from Ullal and Shravan Anchan from Bejai had reached India.
Toi was able to reach Jagadish Pujary, who was at Delhi Airport.
He and Dinesh Rai worked for a company based in England, and was waiting for flight ticket confirmation to reach Mangaluru.
Jagadish was in Afghanistan for almost a decade.
He came home in July on a holiday, but was asked to report back to Kabul on August 11.
He joined the task the next day, and worked for the next three days before the crisis erupted.
“Embassy of India and Doha, arranged our trip.
We did not face threats there and landed safely,” he said.
The state government of Karnataka has established a control room in this matter.
