The flood came after the extreme weather season that saw destroying forest fires near the French Riviera and around the Mediterranean, floods broke the record in Germany and Belgium, and drought or heat waves in other areas throughout the world.
Scientists say the event is expected but occurs more often now because the planet is warming up due to climate change caused by humans.
