Greater Noida: Nearly 100 buyers of houses who have bought a flat in Mayfair Residency, a group of housing groups in Greater Noida West, protests outside the community on Sunday.
Most buyers have invested in this project in 2011 and promised their flat shipments in 2015.
However, seven years along the line, nearly 600 families are still waiting for their flats ownership in the community which has a total of 1,054 flats spread in 12 towers.
Most of them continue to live in leases elsewhere and also forced to pay emists on loans they have taken to invest in this project.
Some of them also lost their jobs or lost family members during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Pandey Sandhya 52-year-old is one of the buyers of houses who have been waiting for their flat ownership for years and also lost her husband in 2020.
“In 2009, my husband ordered a flat in this project.
We have made 95% payment.
How long I have to wait to get my flat? I lost my husband in 2020 and had a son who was currently pursuing his studies.
Because we never had ownership, we were forced to live with our relatives in Vasundhara, “he said.
Most of the buyers stayed Mayfair were government employees who had ordered their flat in 2010-11 and were still waiting a decade later.
They said that they had submitted a case against the builder for cheating and fraud activities in 2018 at the Preet Vihar police station, but there was no action taken by the police.
The buyer then approached the court in 2020.
However, a Mayfair residence official said that buyers who had made full payments had been given their flat.
He also added that construction must be held between RS 30 Crore Payments suspended from the buyer’s side.
“Buyers who have provided full payments have been given ownership.
Around Rs 100 Crore has been subject to sanctions through a special window for affordable housing funds and middle income, schemes to complete a housing project that is still delayed.
As soon as this fund is released, our project will be completed.
The remaining part of the project will be finished soon, “he said.
