Berlin: Storm causes extensive flooding throughout the middle of Central Germany, with the commemoration of the authority that more rain is on the way.
Firefighters in West City Hagen said on Wednesday that they had to save some drivers whose vehicles were trapped in the flood underpass.
Videos on social media show knee-high streets in water and others are buried by landslides.
There are no direct reports of injury.
Hof county near the eastern border with the Czech Republic issued a disaster warning at the end of Tuesday because the basement was filled with water, fallen trees and several areas lost overnight strength.
The German DWD weather service said the area saw 80 liters (more than 21 gallons) rain per square meter within 12 hours.
Meteorologists predict “extreme storms” further in the west and Central Germany until Thursday, with the peak of rainfall may reach 200 liters per square meter.
