B K Lakshmikanhamsuru: Multi-level vehicle parking center Mysuru City Corporation at City Hall, which was initiated to solve parking problems in the business center area, now in sad conditions.
Due to negligence of the authority of the citizenship, incomplete multi-multilevel buildings are flooded with waste which pose a danger to the structure and health of the public.
The work at the facility starts from a decade back and planned to accommodate around 600 four wheels and 1,000 two wheels, and also have amphitheater.
The 18.28 Crore Project was entrusted to Hyderabad-based construction companies in 2011 and the work should have been completed in 2012.
But the plan to go kaput after the contractor left the project in the middle of the road.
Efforts to restart the construction failed even after several meetings at the council when the contractor had approached the court and the building left behind was completely ignored by the authorities.
St Somashekar’s district minister also visited the building in February last year and directed the authorities to call for re-handling to complete the project.
However, carelessness in maintaining an incomplete structure has produced waste flooding buildings.
The ground floor structure is fully filled by waste from the underground drainage pipe (UGD) connected to the building.
The Mayor of Sunanada Palanetra told the told that the corporation would research the project and complete the parking center.
“Incomplete buildings have become black marks for city heritage.
When Lakh visitors come to participate in the Dasara celebration, seeing incomplete structures just across the Mysuru Palace will make them have a bad opinion in the city.
It is very sad that this project is still delayed during The last decade, “he said.
He said an incomplete project was embarrassing for MCC.
“Because of the problem of the room, waste enters the structure.
We will immediately take retuptions.
Based on expert reports, we will take work.
The corporation has enough funds to solve it,” he said.
