Gurugram: The former former 67-year-old army man, who was arrested for allegedly killed his daughter-in-law and three members of his tenant including a child, had committed suicide by hanging himself with towels in Bhondsi Gurugram prison on Tuesday.
Morning, police said.
Singh was filed in Bhondsi prison on August 27 after he committed a crime on August 25.
According to the initial information, he was found dead at 6:40 a.m.
in the restroom.
The prison staff could not find it during a routine presence, police said.
Police said the further process had begun and a judge was conducting a judicial investigation.
“The incident occurred between 3am and 4am on Tuesday.
There were no suicides that had recovered so far.
We joined this problem,” said Jagbir Singh, Station House Officer (Sho), said the Bhondsi police station.
On August 25, the former army man gave up before the police station with a machete in his hand after admitted that he killed his daughter-in-law and three members of their tenant, including their nine-year-old girls.
However, the second daughter of tenants, 6 years old, survived the incident.
The wife of the defendant was also arrested by the police for allegedly accompanied him while he hacked four to death and was part of a conspiracy.
During the investigation, the police said the defendant had revealed that he was suspicious that his daughter-in-law had an extra-detailed affair with his tenant, and he committed a crime.
The tenant family, however, rejected the story of illegal relations and alleged that they had a dispute regarding rent with the defendant.
The son-in-law family accused also accusing that Singh and his son targeted the plot in his name and killed him to take it.
In connection with the incident, a murder case and another relevant part of the IPC was registered against the defendant and his wife on the complaint of a tenant family at Rajendra Park Police Station,
