Mumbai: Chembur police have booked one of their former senior inspectors, along with suspended police and one other person, because of the alleged effort to extort a large amount of money and property from a woman.
The Chembur police on Thursday registered the Senior Shalini Sharma Inspector (previously attached to the Chembur Police Station), Inspector for Jadhav’s announcement and a civilian, Raju Sontakke, under the IPC for extortion, placing someone in fear of the allegations of violations to do extortion, and criminal intimidation.
Sharma is not available to comment.
Investigation has been taken over by the City Crime Branch Unit 6.
Inspector suspended Jadhav is the same officer as who the National Uzbekistan has made accusations of rape in 2019.
The complainant in this case is Saida Salim Qureshi, an event management consultant.
Saida accused Sharma, who at that time was the Senior Police Inspector Chembur, has arrested his brother Waseem Qureshi, a used car dealer, in case of alleged fraud in November 2020.
The police claimed that Waseem had received payment from customers through a customer platform online but failed to send a car And thus cheats them.

The complainant explained that the family had a large property in Chembur, but was under a dispute between family members and the problem was waiting in court.
He alleged that on February 24, 2021, Waseem was brought to the Sharma cabin and was made to talk to Saida on the WhatsApp call from Sontakke’s cellphone.
“Sharma, in front of the police inspector suspended by Jadhav and Sontakke, called Wareeem to his cabin.
Jadhav and Sontakke threatened the wareeem and gave two options – both pay RS50 Lakh or sell the property.
If their demands are not fulfilled.
