Jodhpur: Four people from the family, including two daughters, were found dead in the flat here on Friday.
While three of them were found lying on the floor, one person was found hanging from the ceiling of one of the flat rooms.
Those who died were identified as Deendayal Arora (45), his wife Saroj (42), and their daughter Heal (13) and Tanvi (7).
The family lives in a freshly bought flat in Surya’s apartment near the Circuit house in the city.
The police also found two-line suicide notes, which seemed to have been written in a hurry.
The letter stated that the family head committed suicide from his own free will.
The proof did not immediately show suicide by the head of the family after strangling his wife and two daughters.
The police also found blank medicine coverings.
Introduction investigations have observed that food mixed with sleeping pills may have been given to his wife and daughter with Deendayal.
When they fell unconscious, he might suffocate them and hang themselves from the ceiling in another room.
According to a police officer, when no family coming out of their flat until late afternoon, the neighbors knocked on the door and looked inside through the window and did not get a reply.
He was surprised to see Deendayal hanging from the ceiling in a room.
He immediately called Deendayal’s brother and told the police, who broke the door and lowered the body.
Senior police officers rushed to the place and the FSL team collected evidence from that place.
The body is sent for post-mortem and the report is awaited.
According to a preliminary investigation, the family has staggered under the financial crisis.
Deendayal, who runs a cloth shop in the Ghantaghar area, recently bought a flat and shifted there with his wife and two daughters from his parents’ house in the Nagori gate area.
Flat has been purchased with loans.
