Paris: France is the sixth country in the world to report more than 10 million Covid infections since the plague of pandemic, according to official data published on Saturday.
The French health authority reported 2,19,126 new cases confirmed in a 24-hour period, the fourth day in a row that the country had recorded more than 2.00,000 cases.
France joined the US, India, Brazil, England and Russia for having more than 10 million cases.
Saturday’s number was the second highest after a record of 2.32,200 on Friday.
The government said on Saturday that from Monday wore masks in public spaces it would be mandatory for children as young as six versus 11 before.
