REGULATOR recommendations came 72 hours before President Emmanuel Macron discussed the nation about the progress of the epidemic and its government strategy to reduce the impact of what many scientists said were the unavoidable four waves.
The more contagious Delta variant has caused a sharp increase in the level of infection this month.
Regulators say the government must begin to think of mandatory vaccinations of all populations, to be ready to make such decisions if necessary.
It also recommends shortening of the time period between the first and second vaccination doses and recommends that more than 55 people have received the first shot with the AstraZeneca vaccine get a second dose with a mRNA-based vaccine.
