Paris: French health regulator said on Friday, it recommended that Coronavirus vaccination must be made without delay for all health workers and for other professionals who come into contact with people who are vulnerable to Covid-19 infection.
Regulators who also suggest using MRNA-based Pfizer or modern vaccines to slow down the distribution of Delta variants because they offer more protection than other shots.
“While the number of new cases and pressure on the hospital system remains relatively low, epidemic dynamics in France are significant and can quickly lead to setbacks in health situations,” said in a statement.
REGULATOR recommendations came 72 hours before President Emmanuel Macron discussed the nation about the progress of the epidemic and its government strategy to reduce the impact of what many scientists said were the unavoidable four waves.
The more contagious Delta variant has caused a sharp increase in the level of infection this month.
Regulators say the government must begin to think of mandatory vaccinations of all populations, to be ready to make such decisions if necessary.
It also recommends shortening of the time period between the first and second vaccination doses and recommends that more than 55 people have received the first shot with the AstraZeneca vaccine get a second dose with a mRNA-based vaccine.
After falling from more than 42,000 per day in mid-April to less than 2,000 per day at the end of June, the average seven days of new infections have climbed rapidly since the beginning of July.
On Friday, the Ministry of Health registered 4,580 new infections.
In the past six days, the average number of seven days of new infections has increased by more than 50% every day, rhythms similar to the initial phase of the previous epidemic wave.
