Paris: France will not boycott the Beijing Olympics, the French Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer said on Thursday.
“While for French diplomatic boycott will not do it.
Sports are the world in itself, which must be protected from political interference, if not we can end up by killing the competition,” Blanquer said on TV BFM.
He said human rights violations in China must be condemned, but adding that the Sports Minister Roxana Maracineu will attend the Beijing Olympics.
Paris will host the summer game in 2024.
