Paris: Health care workers in France face suspension of their work starting on Wednesday if they have not been vaccinated with Covid-19.
With around 300,000 workers still not vaccinated, some hospitals afraid of lack of staff will add to their tension.
The vaccine is now mandatory for medical care, home care, and emergency workers in France, and Wednesday is the time limit for the staff to have at least one shot.
Failed it, their faces have paid suspended or cannot work.
But the top field has banned staff to be fired directly.
This mandate was approved by the French Parliament during the summer after the government insisted that the size needed to protect the patient and the public from the New Covid-19 surge.
More than 113,000 people with viruses have died in France, and health authorities say most of those who are hospitalized in the latest surge are not vaccinated.
Nearly 90% of French health care workers are expected to be vaccinated, and polls show most people support vaccine mandates for medical staff.
But because some hospitals have faced strains after one and a half years against pandemics and pursuing other treatments, some shortcomings of fearful staff can spell disaster.
“We raise the alarm …
if you insist on applying this size, your bed will be closed, thereby reducing opportunities (survival) for a number of patients,” said Christophe Prudhomme, the emergency room doctor and CGT Union member, at A protest outside Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
The government’s health authority said on Tuesday that 3,00,000 health workers were still vaccinated.
If health care workers only have one dose, they must take a virus test every three days until they complete the second.
October 15 is a legal deadline for both vaccines completed.
The company and employers fail to verify the status of their staff vaccination is responsible for a fine of 135 euros ($ 160) which can rise to 3,750 euros ($ 4,430) for repeated failure.
In the midst of the population in general, around 87% of adults have received at least one jab and 83% fully vaccinated in France.
But small, the minority of vocal people contradicts the coronavirus vaccine, including some health workers.
Many quoted the wrong information about vaccines that circulate online, worry about their long-term effects or want more time to decide.
Others are angry with the government and mandate, not the vaccine itself.
“I’m not a revolutionary, I’m just scared and we are thousands in this situation.
I want them to listen to us and sit and talk on the table,” said Rachid Ouchem, a medical psychological assistant at the hospital in Plaisir West of Paris who did not want to be vaccinated and Facing suspension.
“We can’t decide for themselves, we doubt,” he told The Associated Press.
“We have politicians who say one thing and it’s opposite.” Scientists noted that the vaccine used in France was tested widely and data was shared publicly.
Worldwide, 5.7 billion doses of coronavirus vaccine have been given so far, providing a very broad overview of the impact of vaccines on public health.
The vaccine mandate and the “pass” “pass” system needed for restaurants and other places has pushed two months of weekly protests by distant activists and several other groups.
Other Paris protests are planned for Wednesday.
