Mangaluru: Bull Gaur was born in Piliculous Biological Park on Sunday.
The park director, H J Bhandar, said the calf was born from Bahubali and Anushka.
Gaur beef and calves are fine.
In 2020, Anuskha had given birth to Parul, he said.
Four Gaurs-Bahubali and Anushka from Arignar Anna Zoological Park, also known as Vandalur Zoos in Tamil Nadu and Mahishi and Mahishi from Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Park, MySuru – were taken to Piliculous, through an animal exchange program, in the last three years.
At present, the park has six Gaurs, he said.
Gaur, also known as Indian bison, is the original Bovine of South Asia and Southeast Asia, and is an endangered animal under the Indian wildlife protection law.
