Kanpur: The gambling racket was captured by a crime branch team on Sunday night at Indraprastha apartment in the city with a 20 gambler arrest.
The police have confiscated Hospital 4.27 lakh from Spot.DCP Crime Salman Taj Patil said the crime branch team damaged gamblers and arrested 20 gamblers from the place.
Among the defendants who were arrested were seven entrepreneurs, two property dealers, four farmers, a BSc student and taxi driver.
“All the defendants have been sent to prison,” police said.
Vijay Darshan’s session, who led the police team, said it was Sunday night, in specific inputs, the attack was carried out in Flat No: B-2 from Indraprastha apartment in Govind Nagar.
“Flat owner and clothing businessman Readymade Jitendra Arora, his son Mohit Arora, One Shubham Shukla, Karan Makheja, Manoj Kumar, Nandlal, Ashok Kumar, Anuj, Arjeet Singh, Prateek Maurya, Atul Kumar, Arun Singh, Arun Singh, Akhilesh, Jitendra Gupta , Ronit Singh, Vishal Jain, Kamesh Singh and Sagar have been arrested, “he added.
He further said that Vivek Pandey who was arrested alias Sonu was used to bring gamblers to Flat Jitendra Arora.
“On behalf of the arrangement with the police, he used to charge Rs 1,000 per person separately.
The people who live in apartments are threatened, citing arrangements with the police,” he said.
