Mumbai: The massive police bandobast has been planned for Anant Chaturdashi, the last day of Ganeshotsav, on Sunday.
About 1,600 police from the local arm unit and various branches of the Police Mumbai will come out patrol the streets, in addition to 300 police from the outside unit, 500 house guards, three state-reserve police force companies and a central reserve police force company.
More than 4,300 traffic police, in addition to traffic widesmarks, will monitor the processes and traffic of GanPati vehicles.
“All vital installations will be guarded.
Fixed points and cellular patrols will be deployed at sensitive points and areas.
Bammer Bandobiat will light up at the soaking point.
Settings such as lighting, cranes, swimmers, ambulances and fire engine machines have been organized in coordination with related departments,” said statement from Mumbai police.
Anti-sabotage steps, night patrol operations and morning troops will conduct examinations with high alertness.
Traffic police said they had established five control rooms at the main dyeing point in Girgaon Chowpatty, Shivaji Park, Juhu, Malwani T-Junction in Malad and Ganesh Ghat in Powai.
The first view center has been set to offer medical assistance.
The watch tower has been established to monitor traffic flow and arrangements made for important roads to separate crowds to soaking and return.
“The operation was all-out carried out on the night of intervention 17 and 18 September to get rid of criminal activities in run-up for Anant Chaturdashi.
We arrested 57 violators who were sought and 55 others who opposed the unstrangeable arrest warrants issued by the court.
Actions taken against 118 people to buy and sell drugs and against 31 people because they have illegal weapons.
We also raided 48 locations where the sale of liquor and drug gambling and took action against 76 people, “said a police officer.
Nearly 950 hotels and cottages were scanned and 416 sensitive locations were checked.
