Mandya: Ganesha and Gowri idols are stolen in the Agrahara colony in Kr Pete Town in the Mandya district on Sunday night.
Locals have installed idols, which are found missing.
Residents say that small children install idols by collecting money from every home in the area.
Residents are happy to donate money to children, and help them put a pandal and decorate it.
On Saturday night, Ganesha and Gowri idols were stolen, while children slept under the pandal.
The population wondered how the gods made with mud could be stolen by such honesty, and what criminals were developed by committing crimes.
“It’s hard to believe that the gods, who are installed by small children are stolen.
Children and locals are very sad because of this incident,” residents said.
“Thieves must be tracked, and punished,” urged residents.
Residents help children to install new gods, by raising money, which brings back to smiling to their faces.
