Vadodara: When worshipers walk to Ganesh this year’s pandal, they will not be welcomed by great idols or luxury decorations.
Over the years Environmental Authority and activists failed to convince the organizers to limit the size of the idol ganesh.
But Covid’s pandemic has ensured that the idol size is no more than four feet this time.
Although thousands of Pandal Ganesh have been established in various regions in the city, no one installed a large idol.
“The government has provided a strict guideline this time and asks a pandal organizers not to install idols over a height of four legs.
Since decades, we have installed Ganesh Murti at least 20 feet but this time we chose the three-foot idol,” Jay Thakore said from Pratap Marghani Pol Yuvak Mandal, one of the oldest pandals in the city.
Pandal organizers also regret that the government issued a very late guideline.
“This guideline came out just a few days ago so it was impossible for us to get idols Ganesh liked us because of uncertainty.
We went for a simple Ganesh idol with a creative background that represents Vadodara,” Thakore said.
“We began to make idols Ganesh two and three feet a few weeks ago.
But there is no Pandal Organizer who ordered great Masters because the government had not issued a previous guideline.
When notifications are released, it’s too late even for us to make a big idol like that.
So, year These are all idols that we made no more than four feet, “said Ghanshyam Kahar, one of the popular artists in the city.
The police said that it would monitor the festival and did not allow large Ganesh idols and great pandal.
“We have installed a three-foot idol in our pandal which has been prepared in accordance with the government guidelines that have been spent considering the public safety in the middle of the covid pandemic,” said Nailesh Brahmbhatt, Chair of Manmohan Yuvak’s belief in Mandal and Amal in Manjamalpur.
