Vadodara: Gang nine fraudsters were arrested by Vadodara rural police for deceiving a retired teacher from Anand Rs 5.7 lakh with his luring to buy a ‘strong’ black turmeric.
Police from the Savli police station put a trap on Friday to receive complaints from Parmar victims.
The police said that Suresh was stuck after Solanki, Pandit and Prajapati kept calling him and told him about the benefits of black turmeric after they had a short conversation at the road allowance shop in Savli about three months.
The three told Suresh that black turmeric had radioactive and alpha, beta and gamma rays emitted from it.
They told him that it was used in making chips installed on satellites by scientists.
To convince Suresh, they then told him that black turmeric could unlock without a key and if the barus lime was placed near the black turmeric, it would turn on myself and even nails became swollen because of the light.
When Suresh was sure, he left with the trio to Udaipur and gave Rs 5.7 lakh cash as a token to Soarki to pay for men who had black turmeric stock.
They returned to Vadodara when Solanki told Suresh that because of the rough weather, stocks could not be exposed to the atmosphere so that the person would take him to Savli and the remaining amounts of RS 2 Crore could be paid to him.
On Friday, Solanki called Suresh to come to Savli with the remaining amount because the man from Udaipur had reached black turmeric.
However, Suresh realized that he was cheated so he approached the police and gave complaints.
Suresh went to the shop in Gandiyapura Village in Savli as ordered by Solanki and then the police also reached there and captured the whole gang.
The police said that the gang formed a different team to deceive people in various regions and villages through the same operandi mode.
